I feel like I am a good caregiver because when my dad turned 80 he needed extra help because he started forgetting some stuff. Started to get Alzheimer's. So I began helping him with medication, cooking, cleaning, laundry, errands, doctor appointments, bill paying etc. Sometimes I would find myself at his home 4-5 times a day answering questions over and over again or just to keep him company. He had some amazing stories of his life so I overstayed my visits. It was great! He passed away at 90. Then my sister started having medical problems when she turned 65. I did the same for her and would spend a lot of time with her as well. I cleaned her home, did her laundry and took her to doctor appointments. I kept her company at the hospital as often as I could. We spent a lot of time on the phone. It helped so she wasn't so bored. I enjoyed the time I spent with both of them. It made me feel useful. So after all the help I gave to both of them, I started to look into Caregiving. It's a great career. To help others is great!

I have worked in the Human Services field for over 17 years. I have a solid background of working with TBI and psychiatric clients within a residential setting. I have letters of recommendation from several clinicians, doctors, psychiatrists and a program director within the state of Colorado. My wife and I are semi-retired, and I am not one to sit at home. I very much love meeting and helping people. So, I am here to help you in the best way I can. As we all are getting older, we focus on our new challenges in life and sometimes miss out on solutions that can make us feel happier than we expected. I am a positive person that will love meeting and helping you to not forget how important of a person you truly are. I thrive within the scope of your own personal goals and successes. I too, know that someday, I may need help to keep active and engaged. I have seen the need for helping families keep their loved ones at for as long as possible. My main goal of being an asset to a family needing help is what I look forward to each day. I have worked with head injury recipients and kids in therapeutic residential settings. This took a lot of patience and repetitive communication with clients of all ages. The one standout quality I have developed over the years is patience and fellow-feeling for others.
